The UK Government has announced a commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 by making the UK a world leader in green energy and renewables. The new scheme called Build Back Greener aims to increase jobs and reduce carbon emissions. The Government will invest £160 million into the scheme to increase offshore wind capacity. As the Government looks to use wind to generate electricity for every UK home by 2030, we look at the options for those wanting to invest in RE.

The North American Development Bank (NADB), based in San Antonio, TX, US, has emerged as an important source of financing for RE projects in the US-Mexico border region, a region of North America that is well-suited for the generation of both solar and wind energy. Over the past 10 years, the bank has provided or committed to provide around $1.8 billion in loans to partially finance an estimated $5.8 billion in solar and wind energy projects in the border region.
